I believe that every body has lived a unique set of experiences that has shaped the person within that body. I understand that you are the only expert on your life. My goal as a clinician is to learn and understand who you are and help you uncover the answers within you that will empower you to own the narrative of your life.
Building a supportive and compassionate therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect of my work with clients. Establishing a strong foundation of mutual trust and authenticity allows me to meet you where you are in life.
I come to this profession after a career pivot. A retired high school teacher, I regularly witnessed the power of the group process in the classroom and I have translated it into my work facilitating counseling groups. I believe there is a special magic that happens in a group that isn’t achievable in a 1:1 clinical setting.
With an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I am accumulating hours toward licensure. I welcome all types of clients at The Center for Change at Kennett Square. I also partner with Rooted Revival Healing and Initia Nova, to offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy aimed at healing clients afflicted with PTSD, treatment-resistant depression, addiction, chronic pain, and more.
My own healing journey and my desire to help those who struggle with negative thought patterns has led me to acquire training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I currently work with an EMDR International Association (EMDRIA)-certified supervisor and I plan to pursue an instructional path that would allow me to train other clinicians in this treatment modality.
